Overview

The Revenue Manager is responsible for assisting the Director of Revenue Management with the day-to-day implementation of all revenue strategies aimed to maximize room revenues and channel mix for optimal profitability and market penetration. This position is a strategic business leader who implements, assists to oversee, and manage all property revenue and reservations systems and programs to ensure established revenue goals are achieved.  The Revenue Manager must harmonize the culture, mission, values, and quality standards to ensure maximum potential is achieved.   This person must create an exceptional climate of professional and personable service that ensures the engagement of employees, guests, and owners.

Responsibilities

  • Create performance expectations, lead people, manage processes, and hold people accountable for the agreed upon activities and timetables.
  • Communicate with leaders regarding issues, risk, and liability concerns, or other important business matters.
  • Drive visitation, growth, and revenue in rooms, entertainment, food and beverage, and other property outlets.
  • Control the revenue stream per distribution channel to ensure the optimal mix of business is achieved.
  • Provide feedback and strategic analysis as needed to enhance the revenue management strategy and tactical application.
  • Create/maintain a revenue management Balanced Scorecard to identify focus and measure success
  • Attend weekly Revenue Management meetings. Assist in the associated reporting and be able to speak to the information
  • Analyze industry/market trends and economic data and communicate to management team as well as the Hard Rock corporate team, and others, as required.
  • Collaborate with the marketing department to generate demand during need periods by identifying strategic marketing offers that can drive results.
  • Lead the property's analytical efforts as applied to room sales.
  • Maximize the potential and ensure proactive and accurate maintenance and management of all revenue driven systems.
  • Ensure revenue and reservations policies and procedures are fully implemented in the property.
  • Monitor online reviews and social content to identify revenue and customer service opportunities
  • Create and maintain analytical research, documents, and reports and communicate to the General Manager, Executive Committee, Hard Rock corporate team, and others, as required.
  • Understand the competitive marketplace and implement approaches to ensure the property stays ahead of trends in the local market.
  • Assist in creating property annual operating budget, monthly and operational forecasts
  • Assist in preparation and execution of business plans to ensure the maximization of property performance.
  • Monitor competitive set activities and adjust execution as needed.
  • Ensure all property policies and procedures are fully implemented in department, including health and safety guidelines.
  • Maintain relationships with key clients, owners, and investors.
  • Develop positive relationships within the business and social community.
  • Promote the organization in and out of industry and at relevant trade associations.
  • Present a professional image to employees, guests, clients, owners, and investors.
  • Perform duties in accordance with and ensure compliance with property management agreement and other requirements and regulations.
  • Operate ethically to protect the Hard Rock brand. Ensure brand and business initiatives are implemented. 
  • Maintain confidentiality of guest, employee, and company information.

Qualifications

EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, AND CERTIFICATIONS

  • 3+ years’ experience in hospitality revenue management role, Luxury hotel experience preferred. 
  • Degree/diploma in Hospitality Management, or an equivalent combination of education and experience that provides knowledge, skills, and ability sufficient to successfully perform the duties of the position.
  • Extensive knowledge of electronic distribution systems and connectivity schemes.
  • Extensive knowledge of supply and demand laws and competitive margin scenarios.
  • Extensive knowledge of PMS and RMS operations and connectivity, interaction and troubleshooting.

 

SKILLS

  • High energy with effective and influential people skills. Positive attitude and the desire to motivate others.
  • Ability to prioritize and work on several projects simultaneously should pose a challenge without being overwhelming.
  • Ability to comprehend and use technical or professional language, either written or spoken, to communicate complex ideas.
  • Strong communication and listening skills and excellent speaking, reading, and writing ability.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, owners, investors, and employees of the organization.
  • Ability to understand mathematical and algorithmic concepts, and recognize statistical patterns.
  • Ability to perform complex quantitative calculations or reasoning.
  • Ability to perform numerical operations using basic counting, adding, subtracting, multiplying or dividing.
  • Strong command of software applications, especially Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and hotel-specific platforms (MICROS Opera, Sabre/SYNXIS, Delphi, SUN, etc.).
  • Ability to effectively deal with internal and external customers and staff, some of whom will require high levels of patience, tact, and diplomacy.

 

 

 

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Ability to move throughout the business (standing, walking, kneeling, bending) for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to sit for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to make repeating movements of the arms, hands, and wrists.
  • Ability to express or exchange ideas verbally and perceive sound by ear.
  • Ability to obtain impressions through the eyes.
  • Manual dexterity, hand-eye coordination, and ability to work with hand above shoulders.
  • Ability to occasionally move objects (lift, push, pull, balance, carry) up to 10 pounds / 5 kilograms.
  • Ability to tolerate exposure to heat, cold, chemicals, and loud/noisy environment.

 

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Deep understanding of lifestyle hotels.
  • Self-starter with an entrepreneurial spirit and strong organizational skills
  • Ability to travel occasionally.
